Engine light (but not?)

  Titanium 182
Hi, I'm miles away from home and I don't have my manual with me, so I'm not actually sure what the orange light that has come up on display means. It's not the one with 'STOP' written through it, but the one just to the right of the speedo. I'm hazzarding a guess at saying something to do with the HEGO sensor, or at the very least fueling?

I had a new centre section fitted last week by Renault, so I'm wondering where exactly is the HEGO sensor is as it might have been knocked out? The light came on just as I arrived here (waaay oop north) and I haven't really driven it since then, but need to drive it back before Friday so want to make sure it's all ok before I do so!

Thanks in advance! :)

Help? :( if someone could just check their manual it'd help a lot. Like I say I don't have mine on me!

sounds like it could be related to the secondary lambda sensor, but you'll need to get plugged in to diagnostics to check it. has the running changed at all? if it's the secondary, it doesn't effect anything, just turns the light on to let you know when your cat doesn't work (or the sensor is screwed)

Running hasn't changed at all, when sitting at idle the car exhaust was popping a bit more than usual though (very mild), hence why I assumed it was exhaust/fueling related. Probably causing it to run a little rich, so nothing too bad!

Where are the sensors located on the car? Manifold/cat?

Awesome - I'm in Renault atm and they're giving me a complimentary diagnostics check :) we'll see what the problem is in a bit hopefully!

Thumbs up to Crawley Down Renault, they've been really helpful throughout my ownership of the car so far! :)

Sorted. Apparently what had happened is the exhaust/cat had cooled down too suddenly. Something like it being upto temperature than me going through snow/water sending the temp right down? :S

Ok, not sorted... light has come on again, exhaust is getting progressively louder and I'm generally getting pissed off with the car.

The cars booked into Renault for Wednesday... place your bets on what the problem will be? :)
