engine management light on 197

When I start the car the engine management light stays on for a couple of seconds before going out, is this anything that I need to worry about or is it just normal?

Thats normal mate, Ignition on.. Light on... Few seconds it should go out.. If it doesn't then you have a problem

sorry i missed to mention that this light is staying on longer than all the other dash lights on start up.

Its normal mate, if there is a problem the Sevice spanner will light up and stay on too and a message will pop up on the trip computer

I was about to say, have you never owned a car before lol. I think thats standard with renaults though, engine light stays on longer than most of the others.
