Engine noise

I am looking for a phase 1 Clio RS and went to see one today.
It was all looking fairly good for a 14 year old car, needs a good clean.

However after i made a test drive, I gave it a couple of small revs and noticed some
rattling at around 2000rpm I guess.
I already looked some things up and found out about the dephaser pulley, but I don't know if this is it.
From what I could hear on youtube the dephaser makes it sound more like a diesel
On idle the engine runs perfectly, no knocking, no strange noise. Also when pulling up and when giving a smooth rev
up to high rpm's it al sounds normal.
Just the rattle at about 2000 when you give it a small short kick on the throttle (if goes away above 2000 again)

There is another RS2equipped car in NL?????
Sounds a bit diesely indeed.
Might be the dephaser, wont add much to the cost of new belts and such (total will be around €1000)
Had mine done at Veban

Just looked at the youtubevid.....not RS2'd.....

I can't remember that is sounded anything like a diesel in real life, might be due to the camera.
It doesn't sound like any worn dephaser clip i've seen/heard on youtube.

  PH1 loads of boost!
Unplug VVT solenoid and see if the noise stops. It does sound like it could be dephaser related.
