engine number location

Iv searched the threads and believe its down by the oil filter, had a check but couldnt see it. Managed to make out renault elf running vertically to the right of the filter... am i anywhere close?Thanks

are you talking about the f4r 730 number?
i was told i needed this by renault when i tried to order a cambelt kit for mine, engine was out and on a stand and fooked if i could find it

Not sure, i think the engine should have its own i.d type number which is what im looking for

oh, there is one of those stamped closer to the flywheel side just below the head
you'll need to wire brush it up to see it
