Hi guys, I've got a 172 cup with a strange top end rattle noise.. It's quiet when on idle but comes in when revs reach 2k and over... It's coming from rocker/cam area which makes me thinks tappets? I don't think it's the dephaser pulley as its quite on idle and not from that area... You can't hear it in the cabin- just when revved and head under bonnet, it's the same hot and cold.
The car has been stood for 5 weeks so I could have a stuck tappet but I drove it for 40 miles last night and noise is still there.
Any ideas?
