Engine sounding rough *Vid*

ive got exact same noise. was told it was dephaser but i took it to trc near me and they said it wasnt. have you got noise from your dephaser???

when my dephaser was shot, that was the exact noise it made. luckily my cambelt was due so got it in good time.

@ FRED.have u been hibernating or cleaning the unit. I had the cams off you if you remember. Pm me a price of a dephaser change

well a clio race team told me it wasnt but if fred says it is then it is. I think he can smell and tase my car from home.
Some say he runs on ron 98, some say when he goes to the pub he drinks 5 30 all we know.......... HES CALLED FRED

So is it a big job then? I've seen a dephaser for £150. Any how to guides on here? Or is there anyone on here does jobs on the side?

ive left mine for a bit to go cold. when i just started it up there was no noise until it got to running temp.

doing my dephaser next weekend. just waiting for timing tools which ill have tuesday thanx to t21ads

So was this definitely dephaser? Mines making exact same noise! Its fine when engine's cold but once it's warmed up its exactly like this. Is there any danger using it for another 200 miles or so until I can get it to a specialist?

Oops, just seen Fred's confirmation. So it IS definitely a dephaser?! So glad I bought a cup now rather than one with AC!
