Engine stalling

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
Hi!
I have a problem with my Clio 172.......
When i reach 6000rpm it stalls and the engine management and shift light comes on. When i let the throttle up the lights go off again?
I`ve had it at Renault, and there are no faults stored in the memory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

The coil pack and plugs are new, i also changed the TDC censor.
Nothing happened, it still stops at 6000rpm and the two lights go on.

how do you mean it stops? hits the rev limiter to early i presume. i was gonna say coil pack or tdc sensor but you've done that. is it defo 6k or a bit higher? If the engine isnt up to full operating temp the computer uses an early rev limiter until the engine warms up. is there a issue with your cooling system (engine not warming up poss stuck open thermostat) or the coolant temp sensor itself.

Yes, its just like it hits the rev limit to early.
Usually at 6000rpm`s but can hit at 6200-6400rpm.
The temperature gauge inside the car is operating normally, but i will lokk at the temperature sensor.
Thanks for the tip!

Now the car has stopped completely......

The engine and shift lights are now on all the time, and the idle is going from 800 rpm`s to 1400. While the engine backfires and stops as soon as i touch the throttle.

I`ve chanced the throttle sensor and the throttle house, nothing changed.....still no fault messages from the computer:( .

Anyone experienced this before?

had a similar fault before actually yes but it was on a vauxhall, turned out to be a knock sensor, it was detecting what it thought was a knock at high rpms and kicking it in to safe mode
