engine torque dampers!!

  renault clio 1.8 16v
but i still get bad engine slap when changing gear i have change my engine mounts before you ask and am looking to stiffen it up more also i've heard it helps get the power down to the wheels better too.

The best idea is to fill the mounts with poloyfiller and it hardens then up but it does pass the vibration through to the car infact the whole car shakes still it does firm the car up.
Have you got an uprated dogbone mount the one attaching the gearbox to the firwall as such? They help a lot and take most of the abuse.
The other good thing to do is to use a R19 gearbox mount it bolts to the gearbox and to the subframe under the gearbox it help reduce movement its a popular Williams upgrade the new 172/128 use it.

filling them with the pollyfiller i think i will give a miss, my bro drives a starlet turbo he has a really torque damper off the top of the strut to the block looks trick and dose a really good job off stoping the engine slap.

were can i get some grp N engine mounts?
Im interested in this too. Ive never driven a car with as much engine slap as the clio mk2's. its shocking, mainly noticable with how much the gear stick moves around.
thanks
