Engine warning light ?

Hi,

Was out in my 2004 clio when the orange engine warning light came on when the engine was running and it was studdering after a few seconds of running ( the engin was pulsing then when i put my foot on the accelerator it then sounded as if it was about to stall when my foot was to the floor and the revs were no where near above 2000 rpm ?

Any one experianced this problem & what could be causing it ?

Could be any nnumber of things throttle body being dirty possibly any more info on the car or where and when it happened?

2004 1.2 16v dynamique just short of 16k on the clock genuine miles well looked after had an oil change about 2 months ago but air filter has been years if that could affect it ? also nothing has ever been replaced on it except spark plugs few years ago and the battery when it went flat. after the engine being off for about half an hour then started it happend then switched it off then tried it again and it done it after about 30 seconds of being started.

coilpack most likely to be the cause. really needs diagnostics though to say for sure

The engine hasn't got wet , and more specifically the coil packs ?

The definition of well maintained is that its serviced better than manurfacturers recomendations.

Not being serviced for 7 years and 16k isn't well maintainced.

Check the air filter and chnage plus the throttle body possibly needs cleaning.
