Entering HU security code

right, need to enter the security code to my girlfriends standard cassette player. its a w 2000 reg. I have no idea how to enter it, every button i press it just beeps and doesnt enter any numbers.

Help me please

should have 4 0 flashing on display then press 1 first digit press 2 for 2nd digit etc
E.g. press one 5 times
press two 4 times
press three 9 times
press four 4 times
For code 5494. then press and hold 6.
