So a friend and I have epas in our track clios. We both started running slicks and now the epas is either not working at all or cutting in and out. The motor does feel a bit hot but it cuts out immediately once you get up to pace. I’m thinking it has some sort of strain gauge that’s cutting the system to protect it? Anyone else had this issue.

Epas not working since fitting slicks

I run some really soft hillclimb tyres for 3 season and done Donington on full blown slicks and I've never had an issue with my EPAS it's always worked faultlessly.
If the motor is getting hot it might point to it being shagged.
