Did you change them wheels between pictures or did you have one side different to the other lol?

no photos as i'm too lazy to upload any but it was a 1992 k reg astra 1.4 spi slow as hell but bought it for 150 pounds ran it for a year. Then needed 150 pounds of welding done to it to get it through its mot kept it for a couple more months then handed it down to my other half who ran it for nearly a year until the timing jumped. best value for money car i've ever had.

I had one of these too, except mine was brown :dead: my parents bought it for me and told me it was blue. It had a blue stripe (and an orange one!) but the rest of the car was most definitely s**t brown.

I loved the fact that it meant that I had freedom though :)

An early mk1 clio. 1.1, 4 gears and a manual choke. LOL at the gold wheels. Williams rep, iirc...

Not my actual car, but same year and model........Vauxhall Nova 1.3 SR

No power steering
No electric windows
No fuel injection
No ABS
No airbags
No traction control
Only 75 bhp

But I loved it. Bought in 1986 with 24,000 miles, sold in 1988 with 48,000 miles on the clock. Now 25 years and 30 plus cars later I've got my 182. Surprisingly my Nova cost more than my Clio!

Never wandered too far away from small hot hatches, I really should grow up.

1.4RT... Paid £250 for the car, £100 for a full repsray (you'd have been happy with the respray at £800 tbf, was a fooking good job!), £100 for wheels, £35 for bonnet, spoiler, side skirts, drivers door and a 16v steering wheel, £40 for a cherry bomb :D and about £80 for 30mm springs. And i sold it for a grand once i'd done with it.

Loved that car!

Please bear in mind this was 1994/5!!!

I had a 1983 Austin Metro 1.0. It was the 'L' model.

My parents gave it to me (smashed up!) for my 15th birthday to keep me out of trouble with the local hoodlums. I worked on it everynight after school and nursed it like a child. Although I was a hoodlum inside. I taught myself to drive and ended up driving to school daily up until I was 16! lol.

I fitted; new back panel, new tailgate and repaired the rear wings, then fitted XR3i front seats using custom subframes that I made from plywood.... :)S) A Cherry Bomb Exhaust, MG Turbo wheels, Painted the bumpers gloss black, Fitted 2 x 12 inch subs, 6x9's, front components and 2 amplifiers. CD players weren't out then so it was all controlled by a (stolen) flip front clarion cassette player. I let out some hydraulic fluid to lower it and fitted a massive ''LOW AND LOUD'' sunstrip. Good god I loved that car. Shagged a load of birds in it aswell! lol.

I sold it to a mate who's parents were so ashamed of having it on the driveway that they made him scrap it. c**ts.

BFH217Y, R-I-P baby girl. You were my first love. x

erm, had a 1984 Fiat Uno 5 door, but it was black which makes up for it.

i was 15 then. also had a 1988 montego si, 1978 fiat 128 weekend, and 1989 fiat 126 before i passed my test. just used to tinker with them on the drive and drive them up and down the drive. and sit in it making BRUM noises obviously.

1.2 16v Expression - 140,000 miles (was 3yrs old at the time in 2005) converted to full dynamique spec, and i mean the FULL lot, dials, fogs, FULL interior, somtimes the wheels when the speedlines were off.

running FK coilovers

i blew it up at 140k, put a 40k engine in it, ran sweet as a nut, wish i hadnt sold it.

Ah I remember that thread.. funny times

Looking back I was rather ignorant but I was only doing 30mph :p in a way im glad the car ended up like it did, in that short amount of time I had it it wouldnt start on 5 occasions, the rear brakes seized and the one tyre got a slow puncture. Just wish it didnt cost me £1200
