Forgot it was on. Watching the second half of it. Nice to see some nerdy car stuff on TV. Some of the journos are definitely better suited to writing though. You can see which ones have been doing video for a while, that's for sure.

Know what you mean, some voices are a little bit err geography teacher shall we say.

I was in Scotland the same week they were and it pissed it down loads. The red 911 turbo S drove past us on the way up.

So much more enjoyable as a read, way too much repeated aerial footage and not enough charisma in the presenters but tomorrow will hopefully deliver some good scenery.

Definitely shows that a good writer isn't necessarily a good presenter. John Barker is a legend in automotive writing terms, but he really doesn't come across well on camera.

I said the same to the wife. These journalists are legends. But shocking presenters.

What you need it a cricket player, comedian and a small monkey. Combined with a big budget production team.

I wonder if it might have been better if they'd just had a couple of them do it, perhaps Henry Catchpole and Jethro Bovingdon, as they're more experienced on camera, then just keep the others in the background. That being said, I didn't think Adam Towler was too bad.

They're all in a weird position now really, as they need people that can write and do video, which very few people can do.

Was it just me or did it not seem like a real program?

I missed the first part, but It felt more like a 'behind the scenes' program to me. The structure was all over the place and was just a random selection of talking heads with seemingly all the focus on what they had to say with no real emphasis on showing the cars.

Yeah I thought that too. More time driving and talking about each car would have been better.

Overall I was really disappointed, it never really got going, they could have leveraged the cars and scenery so much more, and featured some on-road ‘battles’ but I guess they had to respect being on public roads and the budget went elsewhere.
