Exhaust Blow

Car  Fiesta ST-3
If I have a blow in the exhaust is this likely to cause me to consume more petrol than normal?

Cheers Scott

When I was a pauper student the back box dropped off my exhaust on my ye olde Escort. I had to drive it around for a week before I could get it fixed and I can tell you this - It absolutely annihilated my MPG. Twas the days before trip computers and the like obviously so I couldn't give you any figures but it just seemed to drink petrol.

Get it fixed on the cheap using gun gum n exhaust wrap, available most car part places, this is temporary solution though

I don't think any of my 1*2 exhaust/ decat combo's have not leaked.

Mine plummeted to circa 20mpg and it just seemed like I was forever having to put fuel in, that was with a minor blow just after the cat.

Use a silicone exhaust sealant as the exhaust moves slightly and will break up the puttys and stuff you can get in halfords!
Pop into your local kwik fit, they did mine for a fiver! Sorted!!
