i can just report my informations
as far as i can hear, all willy, in fast reverse, blow some gases from some flange, probably the spherical one just after the tubular manifold, and thats eems to be normal
last year driving on the motorway the pipe just after the spherical joint failed. it was cracked and separated completely from the sphericaöl joint. the noise was deafening!! like a jet had landed on me. the part is surrounded by some sort of metal protection, so couldnt be accessed easily. a workshop on the motorway fixed the exhaust pipe with some wire so it wouldnt hang and the noise was slightly less.
got it welded and it is still working fine. remove all the metal protections and check for cracks.
be sure there is no leak before the lambda sensor or it will affect reading and carburation

I have a very slight whisteling noise comming from the manifold / downpipe area. I have spoken to a number of willy owners on here about this but just want to throw it out into the public domain to see if i can get any further ideas. The car is going into the garage on monday possibly to weld any gap / hole and id like to give them as much info as possible to save their time and my money. So far suggestions have been the manifold to downpipe gasket and a crack in the front of the downpipe. Is there anywhere else that it common to get problems on the williams?Cheers
