Exhaust or Induction

Hi all

Im thinking of making my 1st mod to my clio 1.4rt (92).

I havent got the money to get both at the moment so what do you think is the best mod out of a K&N induction kit/air filter and a decent exhaust system (probably magnex as im after something thats fairly quiet)?

Also, whats least likely to put insurance up a lot?

Neither should put the insurance up vast amounts. Try giving your company a ring and checking because all companies have different policies.

well id go for the induction kit ,you should get a nice induction roar and if the cars pretty much standard u wont have this big exhaust making it look tacky,i wouldnt even bother telling your insurance company about the induction kit if u crash u can easily take it off and put the original back on ! just my opinion ....

some insurance companys start to sweat at any mods some dont, but the induction kit will be the best VFM and give you a nice induction sound, and is a bit more low key,wont stand out unless you want it to...

Think big exhausts sound crap, everybody thinks all mouth and no tousers sort of thing!! get the inductio, and maybe follow richs advice

judging by your bit about not being to loud, you will like the filter cos its quiet until you boot it then its a really nice induction roar, as quiet or as loud as you want it

Whats the best one to go for, and are they very difficult to fit?

Oh, also, will it effect fuel consumption that much?

Id say Hill Power is the best..

... I went for an Exhaust tho, mainly because I just wanted the looks.. heh.

I have a hill power on the valver, excellent! my 1.4 had a k&N nut to be honest i dont think theres much in it between the normal makes. so find out about the hill power cos im preuming its cold a cold air cone like the 16v which makes all the difference

oh yeah and cant speak for the hill powr but the k&n is easy to fit. they should all be similar so wwont cause you much grief

its stainless, so wont corrode.

Its only a few months old and looking for the advertised price.

K&N doesnt affect ur insurance coz i recently rang em 2 ask an they said if wouldnt affect it (with CIS)
