Exhaust Snapped

I was heading back down from Leeds last night when the exhaust starting getting really noisy, knew something was up, pulled up for fuel and took a look. It’s completely snapped just after the cat, can’t believe it.

Now I can’t really afford to replace it and + the rest of the system is currently in decent condition. As it’s an all in one what choices do I have.

I've thought about trying to weld it but A: I need the kit that I could maybe get hold of but how hard would it be to take the whole lot off the car?

You could try a sleeve with a clamp at each end as a short term fix.

aye thats what ive had to do tonight in the pitch black, not great fun. Its alot less noisy than it was but cant risk giving it any beans etc. cheers

If you can find someone to weld the sleeve on that will last longer for you, but with these exhausts it won't be long before the rest falls apart.

you dont think i could re-weld the joint then?

Possibly, has it snapped at a previous weld or just a straight piece of pipe?

Not on a previous weld no, Its quite a clean break, just off centre of the middle of the pipe between the cat and the first silencer. No idea why its sheared it not really rusty or anything like that =/

yea yea i know stupid french thing. I guess i will have to replace it if it comes to it but seems a waste when the majority of the system is ok!

could have mine gettin ktech supersports delivered and fittered 2morrow but but centre section box has collapsed internally still runs fine just slight rattle above 4k rpm
yay cant wait for new zaust 2morrow for more of a nice sound

now your just making me jealous, how much you pay for that? Self fit?

did you get round to doing this? Hope your happy with your new setup.

Just wanted to ask, is there a guide for removing the exhaust or is it something you really need a mechanic to do?
