Exhaust still rattling!

Hi,

My car has been lowered 35-40mm on 15s, I recently bought a Magnex from the CAT back system which looks great but I am having real difficulty getting rid of the rattle. It is fine up until the car starts to reach its optimum temp and then the rattling starts (Is this due to the heat transfering to the rubber mounts?).

It is most noticeable when setting off, I have replaced all the mounts with Poly X Plus ones and removed the heat shield. When I took it back to the place that fitted it (specialise in fitting performance exhausts) they said "Because the car is so low it has left hardly any room to work with, I would have to remove the whole exhaust and reshape it from inside out" (The guy had to weld it on as the fit wasnt spot on. 35 mm isnt that low!

Has anybody had the same problem, its driving me insane!

It sounds like the place u had it fitted at is just using the fact that its lowered as an excuse 4 their poor workmanship. Lowering it shoudnt make a lot of diff as exhaust is fitted to the body not the susp.

If they are a proper Magnex dealer they would have done this no problems. Complain to Magnex if you dont get any joy from the place you bought it.

Got the same problem mate mine knocks on the tortion bar..

I though about getting some of that bandage stuff for exhausts to pack it out?

Any other idears?

My car is very low ( i have no idea how low exactly!) and ive got a magnex back box, but a standard mid section and the only problems i have is the mid section hits the dect ove and bumps, sounds a bit iffy that they welded it on cos the system should be a direct fit and although i only did the back box i fitted that on and it was a better fit than the original. get it looked at by another garage.
