Exhaust thing

  E39 530i
To make it quieter, Don't really want to be changing the box or putting the car on the ramps to make it quieter. I've been told there is something which you can but in the exhaust to achive this.

You might be thinking of motorbike exhaust's........or some aftermarket big bore exhausts.
Thay are basicly a metal pipe that gets bolted in to the tailpipe to redirect the expelled air into the silencing part of the back box/end can.

muffler.... but why would you do this?

I personally think loud exhausts on a car which is anything other than an obvious sports car are bit sad.

Most people will see a Clio, be it a 1.2 or a 172 and hear the exhaust and think as I do, that it's a bit sad.

When I overtake people, whether I'm ragging the car or not, I don't want it to sound like I'm really trying hard to get past.

Far better to rocket past looking like the car's not even breaking a sweat.

Invariably, the loudest exhausts are often found on cars with small engines.

All just my humble opinion of course.

yeah thats it, where do i get one from???

Well for my motorbike, I got one from ebay, just did a search for 'removable motorbike baffell' or something like that.

Is it for a standard or aftermarket exhaust??

can you not go back to the garage that you got it from and ask if they have a quieter baffle for it?

Good on you..!!

There is a gay wee corsa round my way...(or is it a punto..Same thing really)

With a MEGA HUGE exhaust and the wee prick enjoys booting it around..(think it makes up for lack of g/f and penis)...

anyway this thing sounds like a JUMBO JET...and wakes people up etc...

I wish the police would do something about these kinda things or the people would just crash their cars and give everyone a break..

ITS not cool to have a loud exhaust..

(personal oppinion btw, so put that in yer book)

Very true...loud doesn't necesarily mean quick.

I think the sound of a nice V6/V8 can't be beaten though:D
