exhaust ticking..........

hi sorry, not had my car long, is it normal for the exhaust to tick after a run?
its a 182 (standard). ticking from centre silencer or cat regardless of if its had a thrashing or a gentle cruise

this is when the car is parked up, engine off. persume its just the exhaust cooling down but no car ive had before has ever done this

Normal! It's your exhaust system cooling, nothing to worry about. Most cars have cast exhaust manifolds so ticking isn't really going to be heard. The clio has a tubular steel manifold hence the ticking as it cools.

yeah i like it, just wanted to know its normal and not just my exhaust over heating. doesnt sound like its coming from the manifold tho. more the centre section
