Autosol then you can treat it like normal paint, SRP, sealant and/or wax if you want.

Worth doing as it makes it a LOT easier to clean in the future, nothing worse than a dirty black zorst pipe on display to ruin a nicely detailed car.
 
Mine a bit tarnished. Previous owner clearly didn't polish his pipes offen! ;)

Steelwool and autosol for me.
 
Wirewool and Autosol or Autoglym Metal Polish for the initial clean up on heavy grime, followed by Megs NXT Metal Polish or Autoglym Super Resin Polish for the final luster or standalone on decent finsihes.
