Careful if you're running power steering on the Mk1...

Matteh's was wrapped, he had a small power steering leak and it all set on fire!

might leave it then, all i need is a fire in the bay

IMO makes f**k all difference to anything apart from the heat coming from the manifold.

Im running it on mine due to the manifold being VERY close to the brake lines on the Mk1 shell, and I didnt have anything to use as a heatshield at the time, only wrap from when I did my Williams Manifold. Never had a problem with the brakes/heat since I did it, unlike before when the fluid used to boil!

  Ph1
Never noticed any difference performance wise or temps tbh

Heard about the fire risk thing before. Bag of offcuts i had was impossible to burn. Maybe its just cheap stuff where the risk is??

the wrap soaked it up and held it against the mani then it burnt...if it wasnt wrapped I bet it would have gone out in seconds

this is why i was thinking of doing this really don't fancy boiling my brake fluid.i think i'll se how it goes with the standard heat shield, then if not the greatest of help i 'll get a better heat shield made then if needs be I'll wrap the manifold

  Better than yours. C*nt.
Stuff like this can happen if your PAS fluid catches fire.
