Yes the authentique is what top gear would refer to as the base model.

I dunno about the new clio, but I think the authentique on the last model still only had a tape player as standard.

yeah it did only have a tape player, although Renault did offer to upgrade it to a CD player for free for me, which i declined and got a further £50 off the price of the car :approve:
