Only expensive because CS members seem to have the aim of single handedly destroying second hand value of the things!

  RB 200 Cup!
seems a little steep - maybe 7200 would be better but then agin stealers always put a much higher price

Good point.

Some of the values on CS are crazy.

Ive noticed that when ever someone asks how much something is worth, owners of other variants come out with silly low values... When a couple of people sell at low prices, the market sees it and it drives all the prices down.

In January this year, a few people reckoned my Cup was worth under 5k, when at the time they were all going for about 7... Nice one. If Id decided to sell for that, then anyone else in the market would have seen it and refused to pay 7.

People also panic... if they ont sell within a week they drop the price.... buyers are out there, but like any relatively specialist car, selling it will take time.

Oddly, the worst enemy of resale values seem to be the owners of the cars themselves...

I fully agree with this comment:)

The car will be more than other cups out there - the reason being that a main renault dealer are selling it, main dealers always charge loads more for cars than other dealers & private sellers.

When some one asks how much their car is worth people always give them a really low figure - the best bet is to look on auto trader for cars identical to what your selling & go by the prices on there.

Occasionally, some one or 'some ones mate' only paid a very little amount for a mint car, tbh thats not going to happen too often, because one person got a good deal every one else thinks the going rate is what the one who got lucky paid.

At the end of the old cliché is 'its only worth what some one is willing to pay for it'

I also agree with the comment that people expect to sell it as soon as its on the net. Chill out & wait a bit don't be hasty & start lowring the price straight away (unless of course your asking way more than those on the auto trader etc)

I posted a thread about this a while back. I wondered if we (CS) had a big enough 'market share' to raise the market value a little. lol.

I posted a for sale thread and the first comment was 'nice but too expensive'. lol. It was priced as the second cheapest 53 plate than any other on autotrader and had less miles than all but one. It was also £800 cheaper than Parkers valuation. But still too expensive for Cliosport. lol.

You are talking sense there. When selling, look at those within say 100 miles of you on trader and use that as a guide.

A lot of people see them not selling on ebay or within the first few days of going into the trader and panic.

  Saab 93 Aero Wagon
Well put it this way....i got my Cup which is literally the same reg date as that one (52 plate, registered in December) and it had 8100 miles on it for £8200!
Barrrrgin i thought.

Then again I did find out thru Renault recently that my car now with 23000 on it will still fetch £7800!!

  Turbos.
You guys have picked out my main bugbear, people on here tend to think if they post on Clio Sport, where everyone already has a Clio, or Piston Heads then it should sell. The problem isn't the price, it's the fact that no one cares.

People seem to begrudge giving Autotrader £50 or whatever but at the end of they day i have sold about 10 cars through there without any hassle.

that seams a high price but dealers i see in the trader want loads theres a 53 plate cup in my trader for £8999 no joke who would pay that

ps people on here want things cheap i put my 04 cup on here with warranty for £6999 and it did not sell

Hi JJ! just thought you might want to check out this link of what others thought about that particular dealer b4 you buy:

I have dealt with the parts people there fine but have no idea about the sales peeps but Claire says " They once tried to fob and old lady my mum knows off with a mk2ph1 Clio, when she had paid for a ph2!!!" Puts me off already!

  M2 Competition
Bought mine from a main renault dealer, 32000 miles, 52 reg, for 7500 in november.

Reckon it should be 7k...

Thats a bargain.

Trader is still far and away the best way of selling your car.

But... the more specialist the car is, the smaller the potential market and the longer it will take to sell.

Can work both ways though. Ill be after a V6 soon and will happily travel the country to get the right one.

why did mine not sell it only had 27000 on the clock i am going to keep it now

  Leon Cupra 300
i got lucky with mine, 6.5k for 03 plate, 25k miles, all parts that go at that age / mileage replaced!!!

my theory is that in say 3 years there will be even less cups on the road, even less un-modded tidy ones etc and these are the ones that will be in demand!!! and prices will hold up
