I've never been lucky enough to be let off for anything!!! 9 points all received in the back of a police car.
Those whom have met me know I'm polite and not at all an "oik", guess I've just been unlucky.

Been pulled once in 22 years. My fault entirely and got handed a £20 fine.
The policeman was a bit of jobs-worth, but at the end of the day, he was doing his job!

Never been pulled during my 4 year stint..Might have to go out and cause some trouble see what all the fuss is about

Never been arrested, been pulled over for some proper stupid reasons though (not always my stupidity either).
Treat them with respect and they're generally alright.
as for current list of tugs.
1. Driving stolen red ford fiesta (was actually MY OWN white Rover Metro)
2. Driving with fog lights on (car didn't even have fog lights fitted)
3. Public noise disturbance (guilty as charged, was asked politely to be quiet)
4. Driving spiritedly (again, genuine pull, got slap on wrist and sent away)
5. Drink driving (had been tea total for 16 months, copper looked very upset when breathalyser displayed 0)

There's a couple of members / ex members who've been out on the job with him, and all have said he's a top bloke on the job and off.
OT - had dealings with 1 decent copper, and 2 absolute clown shoes of the highest order.
1st clown shoe hadn't done his job properly and lied through his teeth in his dealings.
2nd clown shoe told me he was "saving peoples lives" when he gave me 3 points for using my phone at a red light, with my hand brake on.

To summarise then, a couple of people have been unlucky, a few got away with stuff and if you're nice to the police, they're generally nice to you. Interesting.........

Had the police called on me today and the officers were sound. Be polite and honest and generally they are good as gold.
Got pulled when I had my MK4 Golf GTi 20vT for "speeding" which infact I wasn't. Told me I was misjudging my actual speed and my response was "You misjudged your braking distance when you nearly smashed into the back of me at the pedestrian crossing." (Which he did. I could hear his tyres squealing in bursts as the ABS was fighting back and I braced for impact!)
"I'll just check your car over" he said, "this rear tyre looks brand new"
"Yeah, its had 4 ready for MOT last week as they were 2mm in depth"
"On your way"
However got a £30 fine for having one rear sidelight dimmer than the other on another occasion in that car. Before he wrote the ticket he said brake light so I thought I'd get off with it once I'd realised it was the rear sidelight. Unfortunately for me the ticket said it was for "Performance of obligatory lighting." I wouldn't mind, but it was daylight at the time!!

years ago i had a series1 rs turbo...it was 1am on christmas day and i hadn't been out getting pissed,there was absolutly no traffic about so thought i would go for a drive...i pulled out of my road and hadn't even got 200 yards when a cop car appeared from nowhere and pulled me over.
I got out and he asked what i was doing..i said i was going for a drive to brighton(i lived in surrey at the time) as there was no cars about,just tunes on and cruising
He walked round the car and asked if it was quick,to which i replied "yeah not bad but i don't give it large on the roads
He said "follow me" and i thought oh s**t now what??........we drove upto the a217 about half a mile away and pulled over.
he then said "it's a dual carraigeway ahead" (which i knew obviously) and then told me when we get to the roundabout which joins it,he will stay in the left lane and i stay in the right.....AND THEN "GIVE IT SOME" for the next mile or so...i thought he was joking and after a brief discussion that it was early morning and no-one was about,he wanted to see if my car was quick.
We got to the roundabout,both in our respective lanes,i gunned it,left him for dead,pulled up in the next bus stop/lay by,jumped out,lit a cigarette and as he pulled up asked him"what kept you?" lol
He was properly impressed and wanted another good look around it,sat in it etc and had a chat for about 20 mins,after which he said to me "Happy christmas young man,enjoy your drive and take it easy."..then drove off and disappeared into the distance.
best copper i have ever met and when i used to see him driving about he always gave me a flash of the lights.

What do people think to these community officers? Pretty useless if you ask me. There's a few that hang around outside where I live, guessing because of the school, they tend to be about on their pushbikes at milf oclock.
From what I've seen they are just made a mockery of tbh, I had to giggle when I heard one shouting at some teenagers that he was going to tell their mums haha. No wonder why some have a chip on their shoulder, having to put up with that s**t, proper mugs game imo.

I’ve never been pulled in my 5 year of driving, I'm quite surprised the given the number of people around here that tell me they have and the number of police cars on the road.
I think I've been followed before, unless the police was actually going into the industrial estate where I work, but I wasn’t doing anything wrong

I must have one of them faces, I cannot count how many times I have been stopped, questioned, pulled over, followed and cars searched in the last 5 years.
The most recent time I had any dealings with the police was a bit surreal but fair enough I suppose. I must have looked extremely dodgy parked in a lay by at 11 at night smoking a cigarette on my way home from a friends house. I was enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside until a marked car pulled up. Then another, then another. 7 officers thoroughly searched me and my car under the misuse of drugs act. Of course they found nothing because I'm a good guy and don't even drink let alone store illegal drugs in my car they were trying so hard to find. I appreciate they had a job to do that night, but I do remember feeling a little bit uncomfortable throughout the whole half hour of searching and small talk - all I wanted to do was go home to my nice warm bed. They weren't the nicest coppers I've spoken to, others I have spoken to have been brilliant though.

Funnily enough I've been out with Ron on a shift.
And is probably one of the most professional Police officers out there.
Having seen how Police officers have to operate and what pressures they are under to do their job.
I have up most respect for them.

I've had loads of runnings with the police not just driving and most of them are up there own arses because they've got a badge they think they've got all the power to do what so ever
There might be good and bad cops but in the end a cop is a cop them stop an searches are bull crap it's because they haven't got any think eles better to do with there time.

I used to get pulled over all the time when i Had my Astra. Mostly my own fault for driving a bit quick. Best one was the unmarked Fiat Stilo with the under cover police hung out of it at 40mph waving his warrant card telling me to pull over. Accused me of racing another car, which I wasn't doing.
Like every one says, play the game and be polite, don't incriminate yourself when you are talking to them either. Unless there is evidence it's going to be very hard to prove Dangerous driving or speeding in court.
I've only ever had 3 points in 14 years of driving. I've never been give points by a traffic cop, I got caught doing 34 in a 30 as I'd used engine braking to slow down, and 3ft past the sign a scamera van pinged me.

I've been pulled about 5 or 6 times but never had any big problems.
Got 3 points when I was 17 which was deserved but other than that the rozzers have been pleasent.
I work with a few police and it's like any other job I've had, there's lots of different personalities which translates into different ways of doing the job. Police aren't robots......yet.

Yep, your attitude is half the problem,
They need grounds for stop searches and by law must tell you these grounds. If you feel you have been searched unfairly my suggestion would be to make a complaint or you could just come brap brapping on the clio forum about it.

this chaps a bit of a jack the lad and slightly annoys me with his accent + the inability to talk correctly. however, it appears he does know the law there are ways to deal with the police. it's just that most people don't know it, but at the end of the day the police are mostly good guys and girls....these ones, are not!

If you've had loads of encounters with the Police wouldn't that insinuate that you're doing something wrong yourself? My mum's been driving over 40 years, had some weird and wonderful cars yet hasn't been pulled over once...
Reminds me of guys who claims that every single girlfriend they've had has been batshit crazy. More like you're doing something yourself to attract this attention.

Well yeah that was when I was younger like I said not just in a car I've been stopped and checked.
Few years back I was walking minding my own business turned my head to look at a car parked up didn't stop and stair just looked as it was nice guess who looked the old roggers.
Said I looked like I was going to steal it and searched me them grounds so I said why for me walking past and just admiring a nice car
I'm going to stop now I've got loads of bad things to say about them I've had my moan now lol.

When I was about 9 my dad parked our massive motorhome in a stupid place. He went into the shops I was in the passenger seat. Female police officer came along was furious with me for some reason but it turned out she knew my dad when he came out. Changed her mood straight away and laughed at him and remarked what a silly man he was? Apart from that no other encounters with the police apart from saying hello to them when they cycle past
