Explorer keeps popping

  CS Dungeon
Right this has been annoying me for months and it has finally pissed me off.

I'm sat here listening to Pulse by Pink Floyd on my PC.

Almost every time I click on a URL and a new window loads up I get a bloody annying popping sound (usually 2 pops) and reading said webpage I get intermittent single pops.

I tried to google it but every page is talking about pop ups and not what I need, I also cannot find anything on Microsofts knowledge base.

I do not have MS pop up blocker turned on and I do not use any other pop up blocker.

I do use NIS2006 but have ad blocker and pop up blocker disabled

Any ideas before I toss it out the window?

Thanks

however, to sto pit using explorer (and hopefully you arent using IE).

Pick "no Sounds" from the sounds scheme.

Firefox is the future. IE 7 doesn't have anything on it and it's nowhere near a resource hungry.

I think you have an over inflated perception of self if you think that what you actually want counts for anything. :rasp:

Get FF installed caveman.

You should have to, as IE is a total POS. Opera is the future.

Opera had its chance - but still.

Anything is better than IE.. even the old AOL (non IE) browser.

Opera had it's chance at what? It's a superb browser. The PC public really do need educating about just how bad IE really is :)

Microsoft realises the PC using public arent content with zero features anymore, and they actually write a good browser?

Just the JavaScript vulnerabilities, lack of support and the amount of bloated code make it a second choice to Firefox.

Indeed and that was 2004.

Things move on.

Personally I prefer Opera but that's my choice. I'm not really sure what's implied with the 'had it's chance' thing. Things have moved on how? Opera 9 is a superb browser.

Both are in a different world to IE that's for sure :)

opera is crap, IE is crap, FF is king!

i hate designing websites that work ok on IE and Opera, but you have to! FF is spot on though!
