EXTREME kangerooing last night!?

Was driving to the girlfriends last night and it felt a bit extra lumpy in first gear, ignored it and it went away...

Anyway drove home from hers later and coming down her road it felt so bad like the car wasn't even turned on properly :dapprove: changed into second and it was even worse, just about managed to get round the corner without it stalling (it felt like it wanted too...) however kept my foot stable and it suddenly jumped back to normal, f**k me felt like NOS had just been activated... was absolutely fine all the way home after that.

Any ideas? It's never happened like that before so hopefully just a one off, but just seeing if anyone else's had similar?

When I first set off to work on a morning I have to barely touch the throttle until I'm at the bottom of the street or it feels really "numb" for like 2 seconds then jumps forwards. I think its just how they run tbh.

I have exactly this! Also if I let off the gas when it's cold I get MAJOR engine breaking!! So annoying when i'm trying to change gear at low rpm, it almost gives me wiplash

Sucks don't it :rasp: When I first got it I was worried my engine was kaput

Just got back of holiday and this has got really bad now! Doing it much more frequently. Tried slamming my foot down and the revs just will not pass about 2k for a bit until it hits into action.

Where does this problem actually lay?

I ask because my car's still under warranty but only for two more weeks, but I only have "Engine, gearbox and axle" cover, will this even come under an engine problem?

RS tuner will certinally go some way to curing this.
They do run really badly from cold. Mine is hesitant but doesent kangaroo.

I'm just very very soft on it till it's warm. Yes that is an engine problem. But I would imagine they'd tell you there is nothing wrong with it.
Could try and wangle a new coilpack out of em for it ;)

Strangely enough BRUN, sometimes it idles fine, but starts f**king up as soon as you take off!?

What exactly do you need to do with the RSTuner? Is it a hard task? As I was interested in one of these anyway... (and would a remap from any company help this issue?)

Still waiting to hear what the garage say, apparently my cover only comes into force if it actually causes the car to be immobile :dead:

Sod that if it's still under warranty and this sounds like an engine problem take it in. Most likely they'll diagnose the problem and if it's not warranty realted you still know what needs fixed ;)

I ran Clip on it a few weeks ago (it was doin it then, but not as bad) and it came back with no faults...

Thing is as I said my warranty runs out in a couple of weeks I bet they try and stretch it out :dapprove: he never phoned be back btw. I'll try again monday.

It sounds like it could possibly need some new Spark Plugs?

Or else it could be mis-firing? A faulty coil pack perhaps?

I doubt its a bad batch of fuel tbh, it wouldnt be doing it sometimes and not others?

The old 1.4 was terrible for it, felt a right plonk when giving people a lift and it'd been sat. 182 is nowhere near as bad.

How much is a coil pack? Spark plugs are quite cheap ain't they? Cheers for the ideas btw...

This is so embarassing!

Just to update this:

Problem got so bad today couldn't drive back to work after lunch so had to get a lift back

Anyway, ran Clip on it and it came back with lots of errors, however most of them cleared apart from "Upstream oxygen sensor heating circuit" & "Upstream oxygen sensor circuit"

Phoned up Renault and found out a new oxygen sensor is gonna cost me £90, and it's a b**ch to put in so labour on top. Took it to my local garage after work and he said it definitely sounds like a mis-fire, and he's going to check what you guys said first i.e. coil pack and spark plugs, as the oxygen sensor might be alright it's just something before that that's causing the problem!

So fingers crossed it won't cost a bomb. Dropping it off thursday morning so update later in the week... cheers for your help so far ;)

Update today:

Went to the garage after work... I have some ring in between the exahust which has worn away which basically gives the exhaust a gap (might be why I'm getting such crap MPG!) it's £37 + VAT from Renault  but we're gonna give that a go first, lamda sensor will be the second try!

No my problem is not the normal one lol. It got so bad it wouldn't go above 10mph in any gear! So didn't drive it for a few days. I've ordered a manifold to CAT fitting kit (found it nearly half price on K-Tec!) as mine was worn and basically giving off the fault as I had a hole in my exhuast...

Whilst I'm at it, anyone know a cheaper place than Renault to order lambda/02 sensor (and are they the same thing?).
