Knowsit.

Roy not £900 if you pay that you're getting your pants pulled down. There's a brand new warranty complete set for sale on the forum somewhere for a little over £700 IIRC.

Cheers mate but that's still about 7x more than I'm prepared to spend. It's not a racing car and I dont take it on track. I was all set to order the Apex so I almost wish I hadn't started this thread :D

^700 on a clio............Fcuk rite off...No way would i spend that. I'd rather lick dan's face!

I didnt pay that, but they're worth every penny, had a set on the 172 and after a few other suspension related experiences i'd never go back to anything else given the choice.

I'd rather a DC5! ;) To be brutally honest i see very little point in mod'in cars anymore. Makes sweet FA difference. If anything it ruin's the car. The Eibac's on Alan's car were far superior to the Apex on mine...But then agian mine looks better...What do you go for??!!

Roy there by no means bad, if they were that bad i'd have them off in a flash. I'm just sayin don't expect miracles.

Looks and superior ride AKA H&R's
;)

Or alternatively dont bother. Whatever suits your pocket or goal or combination of the two. Horses for courses and all that.

Cheers, I don't expect them to perform miracles. This is mainly about looks, but I was kind of thinking they would also improve handling on the average B-Road. If that's not the case then they aren't going on my car :)

I'd happily have a set of H&R's...Aside from the fact that 2 sets of them will buy my Williams that thats better in std form that a RS on H&R's! ( Runs for cover! ;) )

If i thought about it before doing engine mods i would have bought decent suspension and brakes and left it at that. I've not got 190bhp and shite brakes and handling...Least she's fast!

Roy more than welcome to have a thrash in mine! ;)

Well ok thanks. It seems the Apex springs are shite then. I didn't intend this thread to end up slagging people off ;)

Stick to the sportlines to be safe...But if you do go for apex spk to John2modified he's doing them at a good price.

My problem with the sportlines is that I doubt they are going to be able to pull off the look that I'm after;

Roy give the Apex ago I would and have lol, I paid £81 for mine and even if you hated them you could sell them on here for £60, £20 is nothing lost really, its all about personal preference, what you use the car for and how hard you push it imho :) use them as a starting point like most people do ..

^^ yep second one is coilovers ..

Ali, Because I didn't understand coilovers I really struggled with them, the first thing you need to understand is the lower you go the stiffer you have to go and I couldn't handle that being small and all lol

LOL :D So can I presume Apex springs are similar?

Nope I find them very different, no way near as hard cause they aint as low, I find them a lil bouncy tbh and not as good as stock set up, on track because they are bouny they make the car work harder imho :)
