F4R or F7R

  Fiesta ST-3
Basically my knowledge of engines isnt great, but which would you say is the better engine in terms of performance, reliability etc?

  ITB'd MK1
both great IMO, I like the F7R a lot, I'm a fan of cam-on-bucket heads generally as rocker arms dont fill me with confidence, but the F4R rockers seem reliable generally. The F7R is harder to work on IMO but mostly because of space, so it's vehicle dependent. The F7R requires a lot of special tools and procedures, but once you know them they're fantastic to work on. F4R is more reliable IMO if they're looked after

I love the F7R, nothing to do with performance this next comment (lol!) but I think its a much nicer looking engine than an F4... Something about a good looking engine ;)

with regards to relibalilty I've noticed a lot more belt related failures on the F4's compared to the F7's - I understand thats a lot to do with owners and maintenance but I thought the F4's setup in this regard is a bit flawed?

What about performance and gains to be seen from eacg engine. Would you say the F7R has more gains? I just find it hard why they would put the f4r in a clio not the F7R?
