Failed MOT

my car failed its MOT as they classed the exhaust was too loud. taking it to another garage 2moro to see what they have to say.

They can, its at the testers decression there is no limit. It must have been loud to fail though.

the tester can fail it on that, its to do with how much louder it is over standard, there are no guidelines fopr how much louder its allowed to be though.

yes, if the silencers are effective, then its a pass, it must have atleast one silencer, i.e the back box, there is no test for the loudnes of an exhaust.

well £44 later and ive still gotta get my MOT done before saturday. taking to another place 2moro morning and he is gonna see if he thinks the exhaust it too loud and if it isnt then he is gonna do an MOT test on it.

its passed all the emissions tests, it also failed as the light that lights up the rear number plate wasnt working and they replaced the bulb and then rang me and said its still not working so i asked them if it was plugged in and connected up and after that it worked, bloody donkeys lol.

my exhaust isnt even that loud, have heard loads of louder ones.

have taken it to another garage this morning and the bloke there said he cant see a problem with it. so hopefully it will pass its MOT today.
