FAO any1 with MONGOOSE

if uve got one (the exhaust not the vicious cat type thing) how far does it stick out of the bumper cos ive just sorted mine where it looks good, poking out about an inch and the bloody things sat on the axle cos of where the bend is, if i move it back its goin to stick out loads, am i going to have to live with this or buy summat else. if it wasnt lowered it would prob be ok, do exhaust manufacturers not think people will lower there cars.

Yep I have taken mine off 5 times now.. You will have to have it coming out the back about 3-4 inches so that the bend goes over the rear axle.

Without doing this you cant take passengers either...

So its up to you. I will put a pic of mine here tonight to show how far it comes out.

Ive got a full mongoose system with de-cat. and yes, ive re-fitted the damn thing 50 million times as well. It does stick out a bit but not excessively and looks good if you keep it polished.

Keep jugleing it till it sits right but itll always knock somewhere

im going to move it till it doesnt knock and if it sticks out too much then i might see if i can get some1 to chop a bit off an re-weld it. if it still knocks in some places ill get hold of some exhaust wrap or summat an a bit of insulation for them bits, has any1 done this?

outkast have you got that pic of your exhaust mate, cos if its coming off i might see if i can shorten it if i dont like it

Oh btw, its back on the axle now after dropping the front 50mm and the back 35mm so Im back at square one

cheers mate, thats how much mine sticks out at the moment maybe bit less but the rattleing is pissing me right off ,mines dropped 40 mm and the exhaust will have to come out a lot more to clear the axle, what are you going to do about yours?

Is yours -40 at the back?

I think the next attempt will be a struggle. Im going to take it off, bend the hangers upwards thus making them shorter and try to squeeze it back on. I may push it out another half inch too.

As its shown (pic) it was fine before I dropped it.

Should be attempting the hangers this weekend but not sure yet.

Snap! My clio is almost identical to yours. I have no locks and took the black stickers of the doors (vertical ones by the window) you need the phase 2 boot trim (without the badges) My mongoose sticks out exactly like yours, i dont think it looks too bad really.

Where are your side repeaters from, the clear versions look much better than my sh*tty orange ones...

yeh 40mm at the back , the bend in the mongoose is exactly the same as the standard 1 cos i compared them before i fitted it just the tailpipe is longer and its larger bore it will have stick out quite a bit for the actual box to be in the same place as standard maybe 2" more ive done same as you was thinkin, bent the hangers to get more height i just need to move it back now, if it rattles then im goin to swear a lot and have a paddy. cliocup the pic is of outkasts clio

cliocup - show me a pic without the door strips. Two regulars on the forum are thinking of doing this but dont have the balls to actually do it.

I am after the phase two strip but just havent got time at the mo!

How much did you pay to get it delocked?

Sorry bout the mix-up, wasnt sure whos car it was! but where are the side repeaters from?

The door stickers come off fairly easily and leave fresh paint underneath!
Mine was de-locked after it was broken into, i had some other scratches taken out at the same time and my rear arches done. Whole lot cost me £400. But hes done a great job of the locks, looks like it came from the factory like it!

ive sorted me rattleing now, the bloke from quik fit messed about with it on the ramps till he could get the most clearance then tied it up with cable ties and it doesnt rattle now only if ive got people in the back and it doesnt stick out really far so im happy ill take a pic soon
