I am a 7 year man, daaaaaamn where has the time gone?
My first Clio... MK1 1.8 RSi. Magnex manifold back exhaust, Green filter, 'chipped' 113bhp.
6 months later somebody T boned my on a cross roads, which resulted in:
Second car was another MK1 1.8 RSi, but the PH-3 facelift model. Spax RSX suspension, camber bolts, Magnex manifold back exhaust, Hillpower induction kit and chipped.
Benefits of working at Magnex..
Then I fitted a set of refurbished williams wheels
Then the 172... purchased in 2007, completely standard. 54,000miles iirc. I can still remember how fast this car felt, actually scared me on the test drive
Apart from the f**king GASH tail trim.
A few months later I brought this Mk1 1.2RN as a run around for work commitments, this was an absolute bargain £250 and was absolutely MINT, not a hint of rust on the car.
I ran this for 6 months and then sold it for £750, nice profit made
Back to the 172... and the modding begins.. I produced a de-cat pipe through work at the time and sold quite alot of them to fellow CS members
then bucket seats and stripping of the car
Car was painted matt black inside.
And then came the orange phase..
I haven't got any photos of the suspension but I was running KW v2, solid top mounts, Powerflex bushes and all new ball joints, steering arms etc. it was brilliant.
She mad good power too
Only mods where a Yozza race system, AWT matched inlets, ITG element and regular servicing
Then a week before a Euro road trip the gearbox decided to die, that was fully re-built, I fitted a new clutch and lightened flywheel:
And then the epic, epic epic road trip with a Northern b*****d, a Welshy and 3 SouthWest bumkins
But you've all seen the road trip... Car made it back in one piece then I sold it a few months after.
It's replacement:
