ClioJohn I am in East Lothian not West, but have had several lots of wheels from the guys at SKIDZ in Falkirk, so I know them.
Phone them on 01324 660 060 and ask for Craig Scott who is a very friendly guy and even if you dont know him, he will talk to you as though he knows you! He has a very low 106 GTi which is almost touching the ground, ask him where the best place is for lowering as he knows everbody, including the brilliant people from Peugeot Ecosse, and tell him that Sylvia told you to ask him.
If he is on his day off, there is another Craig who is just as friendly, ask him the best lowering place. If you are too shy to ask them, let me know on here and I will speak to Craig for you in the morning.

OK I get the hint! I will phone Craig in the morning. Where are you ClioJohn? Then I can ask Craig for somewhere in your area. He knows everyone decent who is connected with car modding as SKIDZ supply and fit wheels for miles around.
It doesnt have to be a Renault garage, it is probably best if it isnt Renault! Any garage mechanics can lower cars, change springs, lower torsion bars etc, and are probably better at it than Renault.

I have just noticed ClioJohn that I posted the wrong number for SKIDZ - it is 01324 630060 (I had one too many 6s).
I phoned Craig (Scott) about the lowering, and his mate (EM Car Repairs) who does loads of car stuff, is at Shotts, which mustnt be too far from you. His place might be hard for you to find, so Craig said to PLEASE PHONE HIM and he will give you directions on how to find it -01324 630060-
Dont be shy, as you said you were last night. just say Sylvia asked you to phone him, Craig wont bite your head off he is a great guy, very handy to know, so he could be very useful to you as he knows everyone connected with cars!

You think your mate would mind me phoning him now? Ive FINALLY got the springs and im just looking to get them fitted. Ive been quoted 70quid of a nearby garage. You think he could beat that?

When i had my first clio i was getting quotes of 120 + vat just to do the bar. There is a place near me who will do it for about £70 and he is really good. He had a white valver with something like 180bhp. He is doing mine as soon as i get my car back. But it is in Prestwick, you know where the airport is. It will be about an hour from you.

I have only just noticed your messages about lowering. Sorry not to have seen them earlier but I am glad that you got it sorted.
Any time you need to know anything about wheels, tyres, lowering etc, just you phone Craig at SKIDZ and dont worry about phoning him out of the blue (as you put it) as Craig is a great guy, very friendly and he knows loads of people who could help with anything to do with cars!
