FAO: People who have retrofitted Xenons....

I've got Xenons on my Cup, proper 182 ones.
Now when I fitted these I used the original headlamp adapter as you do and this also allowed me to use the headlamp height adjuster to move the Xenons up and down.
This weekend one of my bulbs went and in the same day I noticed that the adjuster doesnt work anymore, it went down but now doesnt work so had to adjust manually? I asked Stevo about it and he explained the 182's don't even have adjuster so its a bit hmmm
Any ideas?

No all xenon equipped cars have to have auto levelling by law, it works off the rear axle i think

There is a white allen bolt on the rear of the headlight, this will manually adjust them up and down. I'm not sure what range it has though.

The auto-leveller is on the rear beam.

Pretty extensive, adjusted mine quite substantially after having a bump (new ones seemed to be positioned really high!) and lowering the car.

As Tom said, legally they should all have auto leveller on the rear axle as well as washers. However, the vast majority do not have either of these and have no issues getting through MOTs etc.

Yeah I know all about the auto leveller etc... my question is whether anyone has any idea as to why the level adjuster may have stopped working? have checked connection etc but nothing... it doesnt have its own fuse or anything does it?

So you turn the dash adjuster and nothing happens?

This is just on one headlight - correct?

The headights have seperate fuses for dip and main beam both sides so its worth checking, can't remember off the top of my head if the adjuster is on the headlight dip feed.

Well the other headlight isn't working at the mo so can't check.. but pretty certain it isnt as I can't hear the motor working... but yeah correct...

Sorry about hijacking your thread but I'm looking to fit my Cup with standard Xenons from a FF 172/182.

I know I'll need the washer system and auto leveling to be legal, but I'd like to know exactly which parts I will need. This thread seems to have the best idea of what is needed.

There is mention of a level sensor for the rear beam, what is this and how is it fitted? Where do I route the electrical connections i.e. to the xenon headlights themselves or an intermediatry box from this 'sensor'? Does my cup have it pre fitted but not connected?

Secondly, will my Cup washer bottle take the new feeds to the headlight washers (extra pump?) or will I need a complete setup from a FF 1*2? i.e. new washer bottle, washers and plumbing in between?

Cheers, Rob

Rob, probably better if you start a new thread. Have a search for some of my older posts as I did the washer conversion on my 1.2 Clio years ago.

Dansta, it could be simply that the adjuster motor has failed meaning a new one will be required.

Started a new thread: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=414319

However I've been trawling through search results and cant find any started by you relating to a fitting guide......? Do you remember what it was called per chance or a linky?
