For all those that think its cool, i cant wait to see one of you guys get pulled and 6 points given for driving an un-road worthy car on the road lol, if a cop sees that you dont have side lights on he could be really arsey and decided to inpound your car for having an unroad worthy motor, anything you do after the mot that could fail at the time of mot invalidates your mot, so that goes for non e marked bulbs, d-cat etc
anything like that can get the fuzz very intreasted in your motor

why remove it anyway.... is it suddenly uncool to have side lights?

Lol, nope.

Spare tyre isnt part of the mot, or construction and use regs. Wouldnt matter if it was bald, flat etc, its just luggage in your boot.

But you do need sidelights for an mot, and would be committing a traffic offence if you were stopped and didnt have them fitted.

i took my sidelights out last week. So far my washer pump has stopped working and my airbag/serv light is coming on and off. How random!

No problems and it looks mint. I just put them back in for the MOT.

They have to be left on if your parked on roads of certain speeds I think it 50 and over.

Also its a legal requiremnt to have lights on if you have your wipers on so if its raining but its still light you may only choose to put the sidelights on.

I've left mine in, when its just dull or raining badly I just put sidelights on as dipped makes no difference to seeing better. Thought about changing them for led but cba for the difference it makes.

Hadn't noticed this either . . . interesting, but then again, I put my lights on every time I drive as a habit (father and grandfather do/did it).

any because youve got xenons! they give you the right to drive with lights on ALL of the time!

been running no sidelights for a while now. no problems. l.e.d bulbs are not reliable enough, start flashing after a week or so!
