Ok thanks will see if I can find out if it's compatible with my trafic. I hear they a pain to read codes on

ok does anyone no which one to go for? do i need anything else? as i assume the actual plug is different on the vehicle so will i need an adaptor? are any vehicle specific? cheers

anything after 2001 will have the same plug. Cheap code readers are good for very little beyond turning lights out

well about three months ago it just died on me and stop warning light came on. it started but cut out straight away so i left it and came back to it. it started fine and i used it for three weeks when it did the same thing. so i took it to nearest specialist who read the codes. one was low fuel pressure whichhe said had been a fault at some stage but might have been caused when fuel filter changed at a service. the other was throttle sensor ? of some sort which was showing as a current fault which i assume stopped the engine. the other day i was happily going along when the emmissions light came on followed by stop light and it conked out. when i restarted it it ran rough and died again. again i left it and it fired up and ran fine rest of day. however the following day it refused to start until i primed the system under the bonnet. so maybe a pressure problem after all? i hear they have pressure regulator problems. noone down here wants to touch it and renault want an open cheque to look at it!!

If you have an android phone there is an app called Torque. I think its about £2 or £3 plus the cost of a bluetooth OBDII device. I bought one from ebay for about £7. I have used mine numerous times. Helped me find faults on my old Fiesta and my Clio and used it on friends cars too.
