Faulty Ipods?

Ok ive got a alpine stereo in the 172, with just ipod support, im getting pissed off with having to take ipod out of it all the time as i use it for work so im thinkin of buyin a faulty ipod to just leave in the car............

so ive worked out what i need not to work :
-headphone jack
-screen (as display on stereo will be fine)
-both click wheel and front button

anyone think of anything else which i wont need it to do?

alot will probly say dont be a pikey but i figure this will solve all my probs the cheapest way!

prolly get one with faulty battery too, as allot wont charge ect after a year or so.
