Fed Up :(

Busted for speeding... 3 points and a 60 pound fine this morning

Just wondered, does it make any difference at all that the police were hidden from view and in a completely unmarked car?

Not a very strong argument in court. I didnt see him , might do you for without due care and attention.;) They have got there quotas to fill u know.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune! We all speed at times - its just that you were unlucky having the police catch you. I bet you will be a bit more careful now.

Was it a mobile van or did they just clock you but didnt stop you??

Scares me when this happens end up looking around every corner.

has ne one tried not signing the form u send back to police? apparantly that is meant to work. not sure how tho. y would they leave a loophole like that??

Yeah, theres a loophole in the system. If you dont sign the back, then the ticket doesnt stand in court or something like that. Its worth a try mate, even if you just dont want 3 points.

Current loophole in the system that theyre trying to get sorted rather quickly as alot of people are finding out about it!

The other one is when you pay the fine, make a cheque out for £1 too much and never cash the refund for over payment. They cannot close t down on their system with it outstanding. So although you have paid the fine DVLC do not add the points on.

They made me stop at the side of the road to take my details, and made me sign the fixed penalty form there in front of them

As well as slowning down, I think that i might end up investing in a radar detector of some form, because i cant afford for this to happen again has anyone got any recommendations?

thats why i boughty my detector. i went 7 years with a clen liscence to be caught at 95mph on a dual carriageway :(. Bought a little known Roadie eu550 from a local cash and carry and it works perfectly. Cost me £120 and has saved me at least 10 times now. Worth ever penny. They do piss you off when you first get them cos of all the false alarms etc but you learn to get along with them.

Clever bugger copper making you sign the form (which you dont have to). Check out http://www.pepipoo.com/http://www.pepipoo.com/ for info that may help.

BTW signing the form in front of the copper means you admitted you were speeding, sorry.

hmmm...wonder what theyd say if u refused to sign it infront of you. they could become real arsey about it

my mate has the S6-R (?) which works really well. theyre 20% in halfords i think at the moment.
