Few issues, not sure if normal?

  Ibiza SC
Well, the first one anyway.

I'm not sure if this would be related to me pumping my tyres up the other day, but basically, since I did, the car is hardly as comfortable as it used to be, the ride doesnt sound as smooth either, and the car is also a bit harder to control under harsh acceleration. The tyres before were at 26psi, they're now at 32...would this be the reason?

2nd issue: Kind of got worse and worse over time, but basically everytime a speed bump is crossed, or I harshly accelerated, a weird 'clanking' noise can be heard from the rear...it doesnt happen when i actually his a speedbump...but more straight after like something is ricochet or bouncing off something once the rear of my car straightens out, any ideas?

Cheers

first one id say yes its prob your tyre pressures, makes a huge difference especially if your really used to your set up.
and id say +1 on the heat shield rattling

+1 for heat shield and pressures especially if you only felt the change after you pumped them up.

IMO 32psi is abit high. I think they are meant to be about 29/30 i may be wrong.

Well the first one is sorted, let them back down to 26 and the ride comfort is straight back to how it used to be and also no veering or strange tyre noises. 2nd is still there, is the heat shield issue something to worry about? I mean...if its rattling then I'm guessing somethings either come loose or maybe it's just normal with a low ride height? Should have someone look at it immediatly?

Cheers for the replies guys

My trophys heat shield used to rattle on the exhaust over speed bumps and bumpy roads, a bolt had rusted away, just needed replacing to stop it rattling around, think the clio should be 29 psi rear and 30 psi front, although that could be the other way around :S
