few questions



  Punto/Clio GTT


my clio will be on the road within the next 2 months but i got a couple of questions and need your help!

1. the car was an insurance write off and was stood in a salvage yard for X amount of time. i wanna do a major service on it, change every belt, oil change, brake pads and things like that. could someone do me a list of everythin that should be checked on a major service so i can change it anyway please.

2. im keepin the car standard (ish), and im keepin the 14" wheels that are on it, but i want to lower it. what is the most people would advise lowering a MK 1 on standard shocks? and how much on the torsion bar too.

3. Has anyone got any pics of some RSI sideskirts, on the car or off it. Preferably in Black.

4. Cause my car was a write off, a friend says i have to take it to the AA and pay them 180 notes to check it over and deem it road worthy, is this true? ive been told i have to take it to the vehicle place in Birmingham. anyone know where its gotta go to be checked?

Id get coilovers and lower it as much as they will alow you to.

There quite cheap for the mk1 I think.

tryin to spend as little as possible on it mate. i just want small things improvin til next year, then ill get a valver.

would you say 55/60 mil lowerin springs are safe on standard shocks? just want to take some of the roll out of the car.

yeh i got 60mm springs on mine, and its fine, rides a little bumpy, but if ur going to be getting a valver i would worry bout it.

and youve only got to buy 2 springs, which will be dirtyly cheap

any idea where i can get 60 mm lowerin springs from? just tried a google search n can only find 35 mil drops for the mk 1. 60 mm full suspension kits

errm im sure i saw sum in demon tweeks, i dont have the catalogue with me at uni tho, spax , ebach, apex may do them?

i had a mark 1 clio b4, and had a choice of 40mm or 60mm springs from DT.

My williams was a right off and was given a cat C status. As far as Im aware you dont have to get it checked over. You just have to put it through an MOT, which I did!!
