Few Valver Questions

the power steering pump is very noisy! big job? expensive to replace?

Breaks are Terrible? may ned a bleed lots of travel!

Clutch is very stiff and tight plenty of bite but tooo low down!

Do anybodys aux guages work?

The Throttle peddle is very umm wobbly? can this be adjusted?

Can i make my electric windows faster? VERY slow.

How much power will i gain from a BBR star chip, K&N and a decat with magnex?

Are the fogs ever likly to work?

Can i get a new key and "blipper" from renault and code it to the car? if so how much?

I know nothing apart from the fact that the only decent filters are panel filters.

The powersteering pump, im not sure but i think thats an engine out jobbie = expensive

The clutch, try tightening the cable, via the arm on the gearbox

Fogs and aux guages should work, might be a lose connection or maybe dodgy wiring:S

Brakes, pads may be badly worn get them checked

Power gain should be between 5-10bhp

I got a new plip from renault (only the fob, the key was fine)

chances are, they will have all the info on their system.. unless it was a very early model, like mine

If this is the case, just pull the reciever out of the car (just pull, will pop out) and there should be a sticker on it with a code... thats the code you need to give them)

If the plip is still working, you might be able to just recode it.

Also, try just changing the batteries as my new fob cost me £95

Can be its a common trait for them to be noisey, can try bleeding them and see if that quietens it up. There are also treatments which can make it quieter, if not can get a new pump, but i think there quite a pain to change iirc.

Check that none of the sliders have seized, which it may of done if its sat for a while.
And bleeding them is worthwhile as alot of people complain about there brakes when all they really need is some fresh fluid

Common for clios, usually a sign that the clutch is well used. so once it starts snapping cables you know it will probably need a clutch soon.

Yeah. They can sometimes be tempermental though, have a look at the connections on the block may of gotten knocked loose during services etc.

Yeah this can be adjusted by changing the pedal height. to do this by the throttle body in the engine bay where the cable goes you will see a circlip you can adjust this up and down, may find the cable is to loose hence making it feel wobbly, if not may find its loose inside the car etc.

Check the contacts, if not could be the motor.

By the sounds of things you may be better off giving it a good service, plugs filter etc and that would probably make a good difference.

Yeah check they are plugged in below the headlights
And that you have the relay in the fuse box. and that the bulbs are fine.

I think they are dear, tho you can reprogram them via a guide on retro iirc.
