Went out to try and rekindle my photography. Took a couple of snaps then thought WTF is that. Lovely big scratch on my lens, wonderful.

It has a UV and a CPL on it. Only had them off for 5 mins earlier in the day, and somehow it got scratched

I don't think I took the shot that showed it. But it's pretty bad. Will have a gander.
Can't take a pic now that shows the scratch up. However, it's about 10-15mm in length on the lens surface. I saw it just as I was going to take a skylight shot.

Not too sure TBH, as I noticed it and didn't take the shot. Can't get it to show up on shots inside due to lighting.
Can't get it to show up in white backgrounded shots so guess it's fine. Also, it appears in the viewfinder on the opposite side which the scratch is.
It's not the lens. It's in the body somewhere.
It annoys the hell out of me seeing it there though!

If its not showing up in the photos, the scratch (or whatever) might be on the mirror. That means you'll see it through the viewfinder, but not on the photos

Not so bad then. Any way I can try and clean it, to see if it's not a scratch?

I'd try and establish what it is first, often when I clean my kit, I end up making things worse than before I started!
Might be, it's ever so straight, which made me think it corresponded to a scratch on the lens.
So can you see a big scratch on the lens or not? If its just in the VF it could be a hair, get a rocket blower in there and try and shift it.

It's not the lens, already said I tried my other lens and it's still there.
Ive got a hair on my sensor/lens never got round to cleaning it looks like a crack
So hopefully will just be a hair and you can get it cleaned!
