Fibre glass kits (damage pics)

Alrite,

Just wondering has anyone used a fibre glass kit before to try and fix damage on a bumper etc..?

My car bumper has been craked for sometime as I havent bothered getting it fixed because I keep catchting it on speed bumps. But its really annoying now so ive decided to maybe look into doing it myself. I refurbished by OZ alloy wheels before myself, I bought them in very bad condition, refurbished them and they were like new, the finish was perfect and im very patient at spraying etc..

As you can see in the picture below the bumper is quite damaged, does it look like I need a new bumper, or could fibre glass it and I was going to strengthen it in places with metal strips.

Basically has anyone fixed a bumper before with a fibre glass kits, any tips for spraying the whole bumper etc...

Cheers Daz

very very easy, but can be messy. trick is to not play with it too much.

rought up your scratch with some P180 sandpaper and go about 6 inch either way of it so it goes dull.

get some fibreglass in the tins from halfords, mix it up with 3% hardener.

then for that ide probably put a good lump on the back and press it through so it comes over onto the front, then from the front ide overlap it, let it dry and sand it down.

heres a bumper im smoothing in atm which had a hole in it too

it aint messy if you just get it in and do it, but if you mess about with it, you'll be dragging it backwards n forwards for ages n ages

generally bolts underneath, bolts inside the wheel arch (need liner off), unplug fogs, possibly screws/bolts by the grille,

Nice guide mate! Just printing off all 32 pages as long as my colour ink survivies! lol! Ok to use an aerosol can with the attachment spray gun you used to do the whole bumper would you say? Because the spoiler isnt far of size of bumper is it.

Looking forward to attempting to do it now, did my wheels before took a few days but was really happy with finish, looked like new. :)

Here some pics of my wheels I did before :)

Damaged when I bought them , (only paid £200 for them :) )
