Fibreglass Repair

  S4, Tamora, Conti GT
I recently bought a Tvr Tamora, but when putting it on the trailer to drag it back to Portsmouth, the front lip of the bumper caught part of the trailer, and put a small hole in the bumper, does anyone know somewhere near portsmouth i could get this repaired, or is there anything i could do to patch it up myself, will upload a pic later

get it repaired now!!! properly before it gets worse!!!
longer you leave it the worse and more expensive it will get to repair!!!
im abit far away in berkshire but look for an independant bodyshop rather than a big one!
repair it properly now and it will last!!!
If you do get stuck pop me a pm with pics etc!

I can't till the weekend as Im back at uni, will put a few pics up then, and Im pretty sure every body panel is fibreglass

Robby...be interested to hear if you find anywhere. I've just got back into Elise ownership and need a little fibreglass work. Have previously used 'Specialised Paintwork' in Reading...exceptional job, but pricey, so looking somewhere more local to us..

I don't know about car body shops, but maybe someone who does Marine GRP work could fix it? (apart from the paint)

An yeh that's a good shout, I'll head over to port Solent and see if I can find someone able to do it. I'm taking it to a guy that makes boat covers to replace the rear window he may know someone.

If u were in Plymouth I could get it done cheap and easy for you, working at princess yachts ;)
But your area is full of GRP specialists Haha

Why not repair it yourself, get a ‘David's Fastglass Glass Fibre Kit from Halfords and then some 'David's Isopon P40' filler. I’ve done this myself and I’m definitely no bodyshop mechanic, take your time and you’ll get a great finish then all you’d need to do is have it sprayed at a later date.

Robby - Assume you've got this done now, but if not i've found a good place in Southampton which specialises in classics and Fibreglass body repairs.

With something like that you need to drill the end of the cracks to stop it spreading and personally id make a metal plate for the inside and rivet it on, countersinking the rivets, that way its solid and not likely to break again! Then fibreglass over it to smooth it all out, then repair and paint. Not too bad a job but would need the bumper off to do it that way
