They were on about it pulling up too 20G, but the aircrew should be able too manage 12G with new flying kit. Also it produces over twice as much thrust as the tornado. (Good old Q-Course overview)

Sad...:(

yep mushroom one is a Nimrod! Its an intelligence plane used to take photos over certain classified areas of the earth. Mainly used in locating certain things. Also has a sophisticated radar section on board which can practically pick up any veihcle. There usual cruising height is 150,000 feet!!!!!

Nimrod is the type of plane. (it wasnt a nimrod you saw i dont think).

AWACS is Airborne Warning And Control System

If it had the spinning disc on the top it will have been a boeing sentry.

The Nimrods had the radar stuff in its modified nose.

Thats maybe but Ive got mates in the RAF (cartographer, Fire-service, Engineers etc) but if they came out with "oh a 30 year old mig is better than the eurofighter" id tell them they were talking crap.

If on the other hand they were experienced pilots then fair enough Id have to respect their statement.

LOL, made me chuckle. I work on nimrods at kinloss at most of them fly at really low altitude when out doing search and rescue and sub hunting etc. They have a massive car wash type setup at the end of the taxiway so that they can get all the salt water off them just as they turn off the runway.
