Final Desition

  Yozza'd Titanium 182
Ok, i shoped around and 250 is the cheapest price to get my cambelt done.
I dont know if that includes aux belt or whatever, but does this need to be done too? People keep mentioning "make sure they have the right tools"
Surley a garage that does camelts everyday all the time would have the tools and know what they were doing.
So do you think i should go for the 250 and is it important to do the aux belt.

O and is it worth me asking the guy at the garage (where i did my work experiance) if he could look at the cambelt before doing any work?

Opinions welcome -
Thanks

Renault use special tools to lock the pins in place, there expenisve, so not all garages purchase them and user their own variants which aren't so good.

Why would you want the guy to look at the cambelt before doing any work?

because there my be nothing wrong with the cambelt, thr rubber may not be perished in any way shap or form, also im sure that a garage would have the correct tools to do a job they do day in day out.

what would your granny do at his point, go on a frum and ask questions, i just don't get it, its bloody ridiculus

(im not having ago a u Beef-mc)

Let Fred get back to you with the prices, then call up or go into the garage & get a quote for the cambelt & the aux belt etc (you need both doing)

If you happy with that quote, book it in. If your not speak to someone else.

As for 'there maybe nothing wrong with it' Renault & other car manufacturers don't just make up their service intervals, they are there for a reason.

At the end of the day, you asked for input & a lot have helped you out, what you choose to do with that info is up to you.

DON'T get annoyed & moan on here when the things fail on you if you decide not to get them done.

I dunno how many time you need telling dude. This is the 4th thread I've posted in. You need BOTH belts doing, but the aux belt wont cost you anything labour wise as it has to come off anyway.
As said above, just because a garage works on cars doesn'tmean they have the correct tools. There was a guy on here that had his cambelt done on his cup. The garage made there own makeshift woodruf key on the crank. The F4R doesnt use a woodruff key.

James, desition?! To even look at the cambelt will cost as they have to take the engine blocks off I think

I've posted the same answer in every thread, so has everyone else. That's what I'm getting at.

Now, get off that big horse.
