Finally booked it in

rang renault today and booked it in for next thursday, dreading taking it in, it reminds me of going to the doctors, gonna make sure they check it over first as i dont want it coming back with a prang in like my saxo did!

Its got the engine mount knock which i have lived with, but now its developed another noise every time i go over a bump, like a rattle from the underneath of the car. God knows what it is! Any ideas?

had a look under bonnet before and found out whats been making the noise! Think it may have been Omar who posted the same fault - its the black casing near the battery that has just sheared off and is rattling around - at least it saves the technicians hammering the car around until they found the fault!

mine doesnt fit properly either, but it never rattles.

it might be that, not sure its bolted on and the metal has snapped

dropped it off this morning and explained about the engine mount as well but the mechanic seemed pretty clued up up and said hes done a few of those before just needs to raise it or somert - wonder how many prangs the car will pick up today!

Should take dated photographs of your car before you take it in of your panelling. If it comes back with a dent, they then cant say "wasnt us".

Five minute job can save a lot of hassle.

went to pick it up at 5 and the part had only just arrived so told to wait an hour - 10 mins later bloke said theyd got the wrong part in so had to re-book it in - to be fair the bloke was sound - saw a nice artic 55 reg 182 ready to be picked up and 2 neglected looking trophies outside - must have been staff cars, sure one had a ddor prang and the other had a curbed wheel - still looked the dogs tho!
