fitted a new engine

right people iam new to clios in general but have been in the motor trade for a number of years when i was lookin at buyin a 182 a couple of years bk i got told they had problems with engine control units going down on several ocasions by different auto electricians thus not letting the engine start u can get ecus checked etc and if i has gone down then no the diagnostic wont connect through the eobd socket.

When turning the car to pre ingition does the fuel pump prime and what does the red immobiliser light do on the dash?

the fuel pump is priming when on pre-ignition and the fuel is getting to the fuel rail.the immobiliser light omes on when on pre-ignition and goes out after 3/4 seconds.

Have you checked the relays and fuses in the bay? (Sorry haven't read it all).

Does everything work electrically in the car otherwise?

i checked all the fuses in the bay and in the car.
the relays i just swaped them around eg. swaped the first relay with the third one etc.
windows, wipers, radio, lights all work perfect.
only thing that seamed weird was the indicator stalk.indicate right works perfect but indicate left nothing no clicking or anything.
i think the stalk is broken?

Ever had your airbag go off or anything mate? Long shot but try disconnecting your airbag computer (under the ashtray) and then try connect again. I had to do this before but that's a conversion issue

mmmm airbags never went off for me but then again the car has only done a 20/30 miles with me.then i swaped the engine.
under the ashtray all i see is the connector for the laptop i even have the big plastic center console taken off.any pics of what you on about??

No getting no spark.
And I have new htc leads. Maxogen I think they are
Should I try getting the ecu decoded??

She finally fired up; "WOOOHOOOOOOOO..... WEEEEEEEEE DOGGY!"
the mechanic said it was the ECU so I got a new one & He swaped it and She fired up perfectly
