Best to get some kind of CAF or heat shield on it to stop it sucking in hot air. You won't really notice any gains, but if you start taking in hot air you'll soon loose power

Offt open cone air filter, less power for minimal noise gain.

True, I think only the K&N system is the only 1 to produce a gain, minimal at that though. If you're after performance then go for an enlosed system, or a standard airbox with aftermarket filter element with better airfeeds. If your just after sound then stick with what you've got and as I said above ^

Off subject a little, but I like the matt black inlet. Did you sand them down at all before you painted?

thanks for your responce, im realy happy with the noise sounds loads different when its floored. im going to make a heat sheild and get a caf, your right about the power though seems to of lost a bit but im not to worried as long as it isnt damaging the engine?

and for the inlet i just rubbet them down with some 600grit mainly to get the grease off. then used some halfords exhaust paint.

thanks again

do you think the heat will damage the engine in anyway?
