thats exactly what im tryin to sort at the moment. I have 16s (195/45/16 tyres) on a 1996 1.2 (same body shell) and they scrub on the back if u have one fat git in the back or go over a bump quickly. I am going to lower mine bout 40mm very soon but the best thing you could do is get the back arches rolled at a place like r-tec (<A target=_blank href= "http://www.r-tecautodesign.comwww.r-tecautodesign.com) or get the grinded at a local bodyshop and sealed. The front arches are plastic so can be cut to how u want them very easily. best thing to do is get a low proile rubber as well such as 45 or 40 if u can source it?!

the car WILL scrub with 16s on and lowered if you dont get your arches sorted in some way! (some ppl get scrubbing on 15s - ask daz!!)

hope this all helps, post some pix wen its done

my wheels dont rub i have 195/45/16 my arches arent rolled i just removed all the plastic from inside the arch (rain guards etc) and that worked fine, havent got full lock anymore though! oh and itsd lowered 35mm on the front and 40mm on the back!

The front arches are not plastic on Mk1 Clios (except for the 16v/Willy).

My old Mk1 1.2 was lowered to the floor on 16s and I had no end of trouble with rubbing at the back - but never at the front. 15s fitted and handled better.
